Welcome! I am Carrie Legg, a photojournalist currently based out of Green Bay Wisconsin, but originally from Columbus, Ohio. My love for photography began when I was about 12 years old and got an old DSLR camera as a present. I started taking photos of anything and everything, and have not stopped since!
I found a passion for journalistic photography in high school when I shadowed a videographer with The Columbus Dispatch. This eventually led me to studying at Ohio University where, in 2023, I got my degree in Visual Communications, specifically Photojournalism. During that time, I interned with Rails to Trails Conservancy in Washington D.C, and shortly after I graduated, with The Chautauquan Daily in western New York. The culture in D.C and the strong sense of community at Chautauqua are qualities that will always influence my work.
In December of 2023, I moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin (go Pack go!) where I currently work on the broadcast side of journalism as a photojournalist for WFRV Local 5 News. In this role, I have the opportunity to cover everything from high school plant sales and county fairs to once in a lifetime events like the NFL Draft and the 2024 election from a pivotal swing state. I love being able to take a camera out into the community and share current events as well as the stories of people doing incredible things. A story is just words on a page; with photos and videos to accompany it, the story comes to life. My goal is to share the vibrant lives of everyday people and keep my community up to date on both mundane and exciting happenings.
